Arsenal hero Alan Smith feels Harry Kane deserves his place in Tottenham's starting XI.
Smith wrote in the Telegraph: "Harry Kane is one of those effervescent sorts who does not just make things happen for himself, he tends to invigorate the team, inject urgency and hope, where before there was none.
That was certainly the case on Sunday at Villa Park where Tottenham Hotspur were trundling along, trying their best to make the extra man count, but not managing it with a great deal of conviction.
"But along came Kane and within a matter of seconds he had completely changed the shape of the visitors' threat. All of a sudden, they looked more than capable of drawing level, thanks to the energy and desire of a 21-year-old striker yet to start a Premier League game this season."
