Arsenal hero Seaman: What it's REALLY like playing for Wenger

Arsenal hero David Seaman has spoken of playing for manager Arsene Wenger.

Seaman won two league titles and three FA Cups in seven years working under the Frenchman.

He said: “In the dressing room before kick off, Arsene won't say a lot.

“His work is done. It is done in training and then in preparation. In the lead up to the game, he will maybe go through set-pieces, who is picking who up at corners and things like that.

“One of the strangest things that used to happen at half time was that you'd come in and you would have to sit down and be quiet. Get your drink, your energy bars or whatever and sit down.

“There was one time when we were getting beat at Highbury and our assistant manager Pat Rice came in shouting. Arsene, in front of all of us, just went 'Pat! Sit down and be quiet!'.

“We were stunned.

“You'd sit down and gather your thoughts for 10 minutes, maybe have a few little words with whoever was next to you. I had Lee Dixon next to me.

“Then, the last two or three minutes before we went out, Arsene would say what he wanted. I'm sure he hasn't changed."
