Arsenal hero Emmanuel Petit has joined the call for manager Arsene Wenger to buy experience.
Petit - a Double winner with Arsenal and a World Cup hero for France - has pinpointed an absence of winning mentality within the squad after the club has suffered six years without a major trophy.
Petit told the Sunday Mirror: "It is not as though Arsenal do not have good players. They do.
"You look at the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri. They are so talented. But what they do not have is the attitude of winners.
"They need a big leader. And he needs to bring in two or three players. We had so many 'winners' when I was at the club - Tony Adams, Martin Keown, people like that.
"This team now has let leads slip at Newcastle and against Tottenham. The Arsenal side I was in would have said at Newcastle: 'Okay - we are four goals up and we have shown we can play football. Now we will show you we can defend as well'."
