Arsenal hero Keown refuses to write off ex-Man Utd striker Owen

Former Arsenal and Everton defender Martin Keown insists Michael Owen still has something to offer the Premier League.

The released Manchester United striker has been linked with Stoke City and Everton in recent days.

Keown wrote in the Daily Mail: "A fully fit Owen is always worth consideration - goalscorers are game-changers and he has been one of the best.

"He still has something to offer a top-flight club; there's no problem in front of goal when he gets those chances.

"He is not as quick as he was but has changed his game and now comes a lot deeper to receive the ball . He is a better all-round player.

"It worries me that he has not found a club yet because his fitness would be the biggest concern. You would ideally want to bed him into a club very early and get a pre-season under his belt."
