Arsenal hero Martin Keown hopes their FA Cup defeat to Blackburn Rovers is a wake-up call for the players.

The Gunners are on the brink of eight years without a trophy following their embarrassing FA Cup exit and fans are turning on the boss.

Club legend Keown said: "There will be a serious examination. The manager always looks at himself first.

"He is so fiercely competitive and fiercely demanding. If his players do not come up to speed he'll make changes.

"I just felt there weren't enough people early enough in this match trying hard enough to win it. Arsenal have taken a real smack in the face."
