Arsenal hero Keown backing Dzeko for big Man City success

Arsenal hero Martin Keown believes Edin Dzeko will make a big impact at Manchester City.

In his column for the Daily Mail, Keown wrote: "From what I have seen of new Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, he is going to do very well in the Barclays Premier League.

"I've watched a fair bit of him in the Bundesliga on ESPN and he has all the attributes to help City's challenge for the title…

"Dzeko looks very impressive. A lot of the goals I have seen him score came after getting on the end of crosses. In fact, 30 of his 32 league goals for Wolfsburg came from inside the penalty area.

"He finishes well with both feet, is very strong and brings people into the game well. Although the Bosnian is essentially right-footed, he can improvise to put away awkward balls. I have seen him chest difficult balls down and then score with half volleys a few times.

"He is good in the air and always on the move. Like all the best strikers, he has a knack of being in the right position when the ball comes into the box."
