Arsenal have quality to respond to 'stuttering start' to 2016 – Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is convinced that his side have the quality to bounce back following a difficult run of form in 2016.

Arsenal have not enjoyed the best of runs after the turn of the year as they have dropped points against the likes of Liverpool, Stoke City, Chelsea and most recently Southampton in consecutive Premier League matches.

The winless run has meant that Arsenal have now dropped down to 4th in the Premier League table but despite the poor form, Wenger is confident that his side will be able to turn their fortunes around soon.

Wenger said: "It's true that we've had a stuttering start in 2016. Our January was bad, starting from the last minute at Liverpool, and then at Stoke. Where we especially have a big deficit is in our last two home games.

"That's where we have the deficit at the moment. We have to catch that back and we have a difficult programme, especially away from home. We need to respond quickly away from home now.

"We are still in the fight in the Premier League, so let's as well be a bit realistic. I believe that top-quality people respond when they are in trouble. That's a good way to do it."
