Arsenal are in the clear when it comes to signing Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The club are seeking a replacement for Torreira and it does not appear the Gunners will be challenged by another club for the player's signature.

Torreira will cost the Gunners in the region of £22 million, per reports in Italy.

While the likes of Juventus and Liverpool were also interested in the 22-year-old Uruguayan midfielder, it is the Gunners who are at the front of the queue now.

Torreira is an excellent defensive midfielder who Arsenal believe will help add much needed balance to their team.
