Arsenal gunning for Wenger to spend up on prime targets Kroos, Pogba, Ibrahimovic

Arsenal chiefs have reportedly instructed Arsene Wenger to get busy in the transfer market or risk losing his job.

According to The Sun, the Gunners want to go after a number of high-profile players this summer in a bid to turn their flailing Premier League fortunes around.

It is believed that Wenger must make his presence felt ahead of the next transfer window and show his intent to spend big otherwise the North London club may end their two-decade relationship with the Frenchman.

Arsenal, who have around £160million available, are keen on Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, Paris Saint-Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Juventus ace Paul Pogba and Everton defender John Stones and have implored Wenger to commence plans to try and bring at least some of the aforementioned names to the club.

Wenger has been known to be stubborn in his transfer dealings which was evident in the fact he bought no outfield players while purchasing goalkeeper Petr Cech from Chelsea last summer and it is felt that if something similar were to arise, his days at the Emirates could be numbered.

Arsenal are currently 11 points behind league leaders Leicester City with eight fixtures remaining, indicating that they are likely to again miss out on the premiership have not lifted the trophy since 2004.
