Arsenal great Henry returns to scoring ways for NYRB

Thierry Henry scored his first goal in almost two months as New York Red Bulls beat Houston Dynamo 4-1 at BBVA Compass Stadium on the weekend.

The French striker gave the Red Bulls a 2-1 lead when he bustled through Dynamo pair Adam Moffatt and Bobby Boswell to simply slot home past Tally Hall in the 47th minute to notch his first goal since the 4-0 win over Montreal Impact in mid-July.

Earlier, Eric Alexander gave New York the lead in the 14th minute before Jason Johnson levelled for the home side less than five minutes later.

Henry's go-ahead goal preceded Jonny Steele's 58th minute third which came courtesy of deft volleyed touches from Henry and Bradley Wright-Phillips, allowing the midfielder to stroll in and round Hall to finish into an empty net.

The victory, which sent the Red Bulls to the top of the Eastern Conference table, was wrapped up with one minute remaining when the in-form Lloyd Sam played a neat one-two with Peguy Luyindula before finishing with a side foot across Hall.
