Arsenal great Henry fires NYRB to vital away win

Thierry Henry scored his second goal of the season as New York Red Bull won 2-0 on the road over DC United on the weekend.

The former Arsenal star received a pass from Dax McCarty outside the area on the left before firing into Bill Hamid's bottom left corner in the 29th minute at RFK Stadium.

The Frenchman then had a hand in the second goal, playing Juninho's short corner back into the path of the Brazilian who whipped it into the area for Jamison Olave to redirect Brandan Barklage's header beyond Hamid.

Red Bulls head coach Mike Petke was thrilled with the performance, particularly from Henry who he classes as the best player in MLS.

"His goal was great. And he could've probably had a couple more," said Petke.

"A couple unlucky bounces, a couple unlucky situations. But, listen; Thierry's the best player in the League whenever he wants to be. Tonight, he showed how valuable he is. So, it's great to have him."
