New York Red Bull star Thierry Henry remains the highest-paid player in MLS despite a decrease in his base salary.
The French striker earns $US3.75million a year from his salary according to figures released by the MLS Players Union on Monday, down on the $5m he brought in last year. His total pay comes in at $4.35m after guaranteed compensation.
Behind Henry is LA Galaxy's former Tottenham, Leeds United and Liverpool striker Robbie Keane who earns $4m base and will rake in $4.3m.
After that is New York's Australian midfielder Tim Cahill on $3.5m base ($3.6m total), Galaxy's Landon Donovan $2.5m base ($2.5m total), Seattle Sounders' former Newcastle United and inter Milan striker Obafemi Martins $1.6m base ($1.725m total), Toronto FC's Danny Koevermans $1.25m base ($1.66m total), Vancouver Whitecaps' Kenny Miller $1.11m base ($1.13m total) and Montreal Impact's Marco Di Vaio $1m base ($1.9m total).
