It appears Meyer is determined to leave Schalke in the summer, with the player even suspended by the club until the end of the season.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have a keen interest in bringing the 22-year-old winger to England.

But it appears the Gunners are moving ahead in the race, despite the confusion around their managerial situation for next season.

The Gambling Times believes that the Gunners will steal a march on Liverpool and the other Premier League clubs who may want to sign Meyer.
