Arsenal fullback Bacary Sagna is backing Mathieu Debuchy for success at Newcastle United.

Sagna believes Debuchy made the right choice to move to Newcastle and become one of the many French players on Tyneside.

He said: "Mathieu will need to be stronger in English football, which is good for his development. That was something I had to work with when I first joined Arsenal.

"He is at a big club where there are a lot of French players, so he will be well looked after. If you can play in the Premier League, you can play anywhere."
