Alexandre Lacazette says he'll try his best to convince Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann to sign for Arsenal.

The France teammates are close friends, and Lacazette, who signed for the Gunners from Lyon this summer, insists he will ask his 'best mate' to sign for the north London club.

Speaking to the Match of the Day programme, Lacazette said: "Yeah [Griezmann is my best mate], we are very good friends and have lots of fun.

"Our nicknames for each other are Griezzy and Lacaz. If Griezzy visits me in London, I'm going to ask him to sign for Arsenal!"

Lacazette is likely to be joking around, but Griezmann was linked with a move to England this past summer.

A move to Manchester United was on the cards, however, when Atletico's transfer ban was upheld until January, Griezmann decided to remain with the club.
