Arsenal to follow 'own recommendations' on injured Ozil - Wenger

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says the club will stick to their own opinion regarding the injury to Mesut Ozil.

The German Football Federation detected a knee problem in the 25-year old when he reported for national team duty this week with suggestions he could be sidelined for 12 weeks.

Scans showed a partial rupture in Ozil's left knee joint which will keep him out for some time but Wenger says the Gunners will make their own assessment of their record £42.5million signing.

"When he arrived with the German national team, they didn't think it was a lot at the start. He was supposed to practise on Wednesday but, in the end, he said that wasn't possible for him," Wenger said.

"Then he had a scan and it was bad news. We have our own specialist giving us his opinion after reading the scan and examining Mesut. We will follow our own recommendations."
