Arsenal flop Debuchy wins Ligue 1 Player of the Month award

Arsenal's former right back Mathieu Debuchy has gone from zero to hero since his move to Ligue 1 side St. Etienne.

An injury ravaged career at Arsenal was finally brought to an end in the January window, when Debuchy's contract was cancelled.

He found a free transfer move to St. Etienne, and he has never looked back. His performances earned him the Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for February. He beat out the likes of Neymar and Edinson Cavani to the award.

Debuchy, who is now 32, will be hoping that his performances are enough to get him on the plane for the World Cup in the summer.

France have a great squad, but full back is one of the areas they are not as impressive. Debuchy could earn a starting spot.
