Arsenal fear losing manager Arsene Wenger to cashed up PSG at the end of the season - if not sooner.
The People says highly-placed insiders have revealed that his despair is so great at times that members of his backroom team are "scared" he will walk away altogether.
The fact he is very close to the mega-rich Qataris who have just taken control of Paris St Germain, has also raised concerns that Wenger could easily decide it's time to head back to his homeland.
As one Arsenal insider said: "There is a lot of gloom about Arsene. He takes things to heart and is a serious man - what has gone on has hurt him.
"The staff don't know what will happen next, but they have spent much of their time lately cheering him up."
