Arsenal are pushing to secure pre-contract terms with Athletic Bilbao defender Fernando Amorebieta.

The Venezuela international has rejected offers from Russia in recent days and is keen to pursue his career in England when he comes off contract in June.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has identified Amorebieta as an ideal summer addition and is now regarded ahead of Everton and Stoke City in the race for his signature.
