Arsenal fans have been assured Mesut Ozil is no party boy. Noises from Real Madrid and sources closer to president Florentino Perez say he was happy to sell Ozil because of his womanising.
But a source told the London Evening Standard: "When he arrived, Ozil was a bit naive and had a long-term girlfriend, Anna Maria Lagerblom. However, when things went sour in his relationship and he became single, he did get a little over the top.
"That lasted for about his entire second year at the club, which paradoxically, was very productive on the pitch. He was a young kid, enjoying his first taste of freedom."
Last year Ozil met his current girlfriend, Mandy Capristo, and since then his friends have credited Capristo with being a positive influence in his life.
"She put his head back on his shoulders and he's back to his old, positive habits. They are very happy together, to the point that they are now looking for a house in London", the source confirmed.
