AS Roma defender Philippe Mexes is wanted by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Itasportpress.it says Wenger is keen to secure Mexes to a pre-contract in January.

Like with Marouane Chamakh last summer, Wenger is happy to take advantage of the Bosman law and snap up Mexes as a free agent in June.

The Frenchman is also a favourite of Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti.
