Sporting Lisbon have rejected a bid from Arsenal for goalkeeper Rui Patricio. The Daily Star says Sporting have rejected an £8.5m bid from an unnamed Premier League club for keeper Rui Patricio .

A representative working on behalf of the English side made the offer for the Portugal international, but was turned down by Sporting president Godinho Lopes.

Patricio has previously been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United, with the Gunners most likely to be in the market for a new keeper this summer.
