Arsenal have failed with an opening offer for Legia Warsaw midfielder Krystian Bielik.

Eurosport Poland says Arsenal have had their opening bid turned down, despite the fact Bielik has his sights set on a switch to the Emirates.

The Legia Warsaw youngster is one of the hottest youth prospects in the European game right now, with the Gunners and Roma reportedly battling it out for his signature.

Bielik and his family spent several days at London Colney before Christmas.
