Olivier Giroud must serve a three-match ban after Arsenal failed to have his weekend red card at Fulham rescinded.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said after the game Giroud had slipped as he went to tackle Stanislav Manolev.
But that explanation made no impression with an Independent Regulatory Commission, and Giroud will sit out games against Manchester United, QPR and Wigan.
