Former Liverpool and Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has two major coaching offers on the table for next season.

Xabi hung up the boots last year and has been busily taking his coaching badges. The World Cup winner is now weighing up his first move into coaching as an assistant manager.

Don Balon says Real Sociedad are in contact with Xabi about joining the staff of Asier Garitano, who is now finalising his move to San Sebastian.

However, a return to England is also being considered, where he is in contact with Arsenal.

The Gunners want Xabi to become assistant manager to current Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta, who is expected to take the manager's job in the coming days.

A decision from Xabi is expected before the World Cup.
