Arsenal face Newcastle competition for unhappy Chelsea striker Ba

Arsenal remain keen on Chelsea striker Demba Ba. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is in the market for a new centre-forward ahead of the January transfer window.

The Chelsea striker was keen on leaving for the Emirates because he wanted first-team football.

And despite staying, the 28-year-old has played just THREE games since - and he hasn't scored a goal.

It will disappoint the Senegal hitman, who had said: "I wanted to play - and I want to play.

"I was ready to go there [Arsenal] but it didn't happen."

Ba's old club Newcastle are also understood to be keen on bringing him back to St James' Park, says the Daily Star.
