Arsenal face missing out on Julio Cesar

Arsenal appear to have pulled out of talks for QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar.

The Brazilian is now on the brink of signing for Fiorentina.

The news means Arsenal's search for a new goalkeeper continues after being linked with moves for Sporting Lisbon's Rui Patricio, who looks set to join Monaco, Pepe Reina, who has moved to Napoli, Victor Valdes, who will stay at Barcelona and Asmir Begovic who chose to stay at Stoke, says the Daily Express.

Over the weekend, manager Arsene Wenger said: "I always try to make the decision I feel is right for the club. That doesn't mean I always manage to do it, but I work with that conscience.

"If you say we are under pressure to spend money then yes we are, but I feel more under pressure to spend the money in the right way. That is what I will try to do."
