Arsenal face competition from Manchester City for Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.
Vertonghen has openly declared he fancies joining good friend Thomas Vermaelen at Arsenal next season.
But City boss Roberto Mancini is also keen and hopes to convince the Belgian to choose Eastlands ahead of the Emirates.
Vertonghen has three years left on his Ajax deal, but admits this is likely to be his last season with the Dutch giants.
