Arsenal face late competition for Legia Warsaw midfielder Krystian Bielik.

The London Evening Standard says Arsenal were last night close to completing a deal for Legia Warsaw teenager Bielik.

Hamburg were also interested in the 17-year-old holding midfielder but Arsenal, who had an opening bid rejected, were close to offering Legia's £2.5million asking price.

Bielik was in Hamburg yesterday to take a tour of the club's training facilities and to meet senior club officials.
