Arsenal face being trumped by Roma for Sanabria over wages

Arsenal face missing out on Barcelona teenage striker Tonny Sanabria.

The Daily Mail says AS Roma are favourites for the 18 year-old's signing.

Both clubs are willing to pay the release clause but Roma's wage offer is greater, with the player expected to earn around £11,500 a week tax-free.

Sanabria, who made his full international debut for Paraguay in August against Germany, scored on Saturday for Barcelona B in their 2-2 draw with Sporting Gijon.

He turns 18 in March and believes a move to Roma who have an ageing squad will give him better career prospects.
