Arsenal encouraged in pursuit of Chelsea attacker Sturridge

Arsenal are watching Danny Sturridge's situation at Chelsea. Dad Michael has been critical of Chelsea's use of the striker as a winger.

Word of Sturridge's discontent is starting to spread and Arsenal are reportedly planning a shock move for the England man, says the Daily Star.

Speaking to the Voice newspaper, Sturridge senior, who was once signed by England's 1966 World Cup winning boss Sir Alf Ramsey when he was in charge at Birmingham, added: "In terms of potential, we have to see him play in that central striker position to see how far he can go in the game.

"He can actually show you a lot more. "I think with the experience (he gains) and playing regularly in the Premier League, you are going to see a better player because he will just get stronger."
