Arsenal duo Koscielny, Cech happy to grind out Burnley win

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny was delighted with victory at Burnley.

A last minuute penalty converted by Alexis Sanchez earned the three points.

Koscielny said: "It was a difficult game. They had the same points as us and play very direct football. They cross very well and up front they have some players who can score headers, so it was very difficult. They've only conceded two goals at home before, so we knew it was a difficult game here for us to get the three points.

"We are very happy because Burnley played well in the first half and put lots of pressure on us. We stayed focused on our defensive job to keep the clean sheet, so we are very happy."

Gunners goalkeeper Petr Cech was also pleased with the manner of their away win.

He stated: "They are very well organised and they play simple football in a way, but they play it really well. You have to say that it's no accident they're so dangerous at home, because they use the long ball very well, they have good link-up play after that and they create a lot of chances from the sides. They have big players up front with a good presence in the box, and we had to make sure that we were up to the task.

"In the first half we were and in the second half we improved. We pushed them deeper into their half and then pretty much locked them there for the second half. That made the biggest difference and in the end we were rewarded for the pressure."
