Arsenal remain favourites to sign Schalke fullback Sead Kolasinac.

Off contract next month, it's been suggested Manchester City have matched the Gunners' £120,000-a-week offer in recent days.

However, Bosnian sources insist Kolasinac will join Arsenal at the end of this season, having already passed a Gunners medical in London earlier this year.

For their part, S04 manager Christian Heidel has all but accepted defeat in keeping hold of their star left-back.

"Except for football games, I am always optimist," he said.

"But I do not believe there was a possibility or the time to extend with him and if there was, I would admit it."
