Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has assured fans he hasn't suffered a new injury setback.

Vermaelen limped off last night on his first start for Arsenal in two months.

Arsene Wenger claimed the Belgium star was in so much agony he "couldn't go on".

Yet Vermaelen insists he is not facing another lengthy lay-off.

He said: "I had a small cramp at the end. Nothing serious. Just went out as a precaution."
