Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna admits they have a mental block when facing the big teams.
Arsenal were running second, two points behind eventual champions Chelsea, until Robin van Persie got crocked playing for Holland - but they ended nine points adrift in third place.
Sagna told the Sunday Mirror: "Everybody knows we can play good football but it's not enough. We want to finally win something.
"Last year we dropped some crazy points, but maybe one month before the end of the season we were still there. I don't know what happened but we dropped some points and that's why we didn't win. We didn't win the important games.
"Every time we played the big teams we didn't take maximum points. That's why they were on top. Every time we were leading we stopped playing our football. We need to stay focused until the end and be professional.
"It's a mental problem. We know we can play football as good as the other big teams. They are not better than us. But mentally they were stronger."
