Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi says the Premier League is the best competition in the world.

But he also insists the LaLiga has the best player on the planet.

Mustafi told BILD: "In the Premier League, every year another team can win the competition.

"At least one top game is played every weekend. In Spain you have three teams and in Germany Bayern Munich plays its own competition, behind it everyone can beat each other."

The former Valencia defender also remarked: "Messi was my toughest opponent. I have played against him three times with Valencia. He simply cannot be predicted. He is small, very fast and changes direction very often. When he runs down three defenders, you are almost certain that he is going through them.

"(Cristiano) Ronaldo is more of a finisher in the penalty area. Messi can divide the game a bit more and makes his teammates stronger. I think he is the best player in the world."
