Arsenal fullback Carl Jenkinson is delighted to see former Charlton Athletic teammate Rob Elliot at Newcastle United.

The former Addicks goalkeeper is acting as Tim Krul's understudy.

"It is strange when you look back at how quickly it has happened for both of us. I am delighted with how things have panned out and it is fantastic for him as well," he told Arsenal Player.

"It will be nice to see Rob and have a catch up because I haven't seen him since we both moved on from Charlton.

"He is a fantastic keeper and he was outstanding last year, so it was no surprise to see someone come in and pick him up. It was on the cards, so I was really pleased that it was a big club like Newcastle."
