Arsenal defender Gavin Hoyte is happy that his stay at Brighton has been extended.

New boss Gus Poyet was anxious to keep the England Under-20 international until January.

Hoyte said: "He thought I've been playing well and that's a boost for me. Arsenal think it's good to extend the stay, because I've been playing regularly. I've grown in confidence and Arsenal have been in regular contact with me."
