Experienced Arsenal defender William Gallas is attracting plenty of attention from Italian Serie A club AS Roma.

Roma boss Claudio Ranieri, who brought the Frenchman to the Premier League initially when he was at Chelsea, has admitted he is an admirer of Gallas and says there is a definite chance of him making his way to Rome when his Arsenal contract expires.

"Gallas is a player who has achieved so much in his career," said Ranieri.

"I signed him when I was in charge at Chelsea and he has done well both for them and Arsenal.

"He is a top-level player and all top players are welcome at Roma."
