Arsene Wenger was full of praise for his Arsenal side's defensive effort in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Gunners defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to book their place in the Round of 16 in Europe's premier club competition with a fluid attacking performance but it was the efforts in the defensive third that pleased Wenger the most.
"Our focus to defend well together pleased me most," Wenger told Sky Sports.
"I think we had a similar game to Saturday (when we lost 2-1 to Manchester United), and we focused really well not to give any chances away and overall it was a committed game and we were maybe better defensively tonight.
"We are a team that likes to go forward, and sometimes when I feel that we completely dominate a game we are maybe a bit of a victim of that and we forget to take the precaution to defend well, but I think we learn as well through the games and we have done that better tonight."
Arsenal sit second on the Group D table with 10 points from their five outings thus far, which has them placed two behind Dortmund going into the final group stage fixtures on December 9.
