Arsenal broken leg victim Bacary Sagna is using Djibril Cisse as inspiration.
The France international said former Liverpool striker Cisse, now of Lazio, who suffered broken legs in 2004 and 2006, has proved he can return to play for his club and country.
"Djibril suffered operations worse than mine and he always came back," said Sagna. "He has a force of character that is an example to all players.
"Some would have decided to give up or come back at a lower level. The fact that he was recalled to the France team, and he showed so much desire, is an example."
Sagna, 28, is currently confined to bed but his cast should be removed next week.
"I want to come back," he insisted. "The convalescence and re-education does not scare me."
