Arsenal's Johan Djourou missed the whole of last season with a knee injury but started the 4-1 League Cup victory against Tottenham last week. The 23 year old told talkSPORT: "At the moment I'm just so pleased to be back and that's it. It was a hell of a season for me last time, with so many long months, so I'm simply glad to be here and trying to stay fit.
"Of course you always want to play but I know I've had a big injury that kept me out for a while so I have to be careful and patient.
"Really, the competition for places is what it's all about - at a big club like Arsenal you expect competition, so I'm ready for it. I want to do my best to show the boss that I can be there.
"There are so many games in the season that there will surely be some rotation."
