Arsenal are shelling out £16 million for their 'free' transfer Marouane Chamakh.
The Sunday Express says Arsenal have beaten Liverpool in the battle for Bordeaux striker Chamakh - but the 'free' transfer will cost the Gunners at least £16million.
Chamakh, 26, is set to sign in the summer and will get £2.5million a year.
That will be topped up by a further £1m-a-season signing-on fee for four seasons, plus add-ons.
