Arsenal are continually monitoring Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho.
According to The Telegraph, the Gunners have not lost interest in the 23-year-old and are considering a January bid.
Portugal international Carvalho comes with a reported buyout clause of £35million although Arsenal believe they may be able to land him for around £10m cheaper.
The sticking point, however, is that Sporting currently sit top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga table so may not let Carvalho leave next month.
Arsenal are still in need of a quality defensive midfielder and are keen to bring in a replacement for the injured Francis Coquelin in the winter with Carvalho identified as one of their key targets.
