Arsenal have concerns over Robin van Persie's decision to meet with Barcelona players and staff at their team hotel yesterday. The Daily Star says the meeting will only add to speculation he could quit Arsenal for the Catalan giants in the next couple of months.

He has smashed 27 Premier League goals this season, but has netted just once in his last six games as his stunning form has taken a dip.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could face a major battle to hold on to his skipper this summer after going another season without a trophy, extending the silverware drought to seven years.

Wenger will also be wary of turning down probable bids of £30m and risk losing Van Persie for nothing at the end of next season.
