New York Red Bulls general manager Erik Soler has revealed that the compensation fee for Thierry Henry from Arsenal is fairly insignificant.
The French striker is back with the Gunners on a two-month loan but the Red Bulls decided the short-term agreement was not about money and did not ask the North Londoners to cough up the dough.
"Our main motivation was not to make money, because the motivation for us first and foremost to respect the fact that this is a very special thing for Thierry and an occasion that's going to last six to eight weeks.""We have reached an agreement with Arsenal that we are happy with. I can't comment any more on that," Soler said.
And Soler feels that the arrangement will benefit all parties involved as Henry will return to New York ready to give his all for the 2012 season.
"Maybe he could start a game or two, I don't know, but it's not like he's going to play three games a week and be tired. The whole thing will give him a lot of energy.""The first thing is, the way I believe the Arsenal stay will work out - and I'm not working for Arsenal so I can't say that - but I think what you saw against Leeds was a typical scenario where he comes on and plays for a half an hour or a half," he added.
