Arsenal coaching staff are urging manager Arsene Wenger to give Lukas Podolski an extended playing run.

The German could start today against Sunderland.

The Daily Mail says their is a feeling among certain figures at the club's London Colney HQ that Podolski should be handed a run in the first-team given his recent record.

He has scored three goals in his previous four starts.
