Arsenal chiefs say the signings of Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira and Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno are on track.
The London Evening Standard says the duo are expected to cost the Gunners a combined £46million, with Sampdoria receiving £26m for Uruguayan international Torreira and Leno setting the Gunners back a further £20m. It will mean manager Unai Emery would have spent his summer transfer budget within just a few weeks of his appointment.
Stephan Lichtsteiner has joined from Juventus on a free transfer whilst the arrival of Sokratis Papastathopoulos will be announced in July.
Once the signings are completed, the focus will then shift to trimming back the first-team squad, with Emery needing to sell if he wishes to top up his transfer budget.
