Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Real Zaragoza midfielder Ander Herrera.
The People says the Basque-born star is battling to help his club stave off relegation from La Liga but Zaragoza are resigned to losing him whatever their fate.
It's understood Herrera's agent Arturo Canales has met with Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis to discuss a proposed move, with the Spaniards looking to net around £20m. He is seen as a replacement for Cesc Fabregas, who will join Barcelona. But Wenger faces competition from Nou Camp chief Pep Guardiola for the youngster as well as Seville.
