Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis is ready to hand Mikel Arteta new terms.
Gazidis will meet Arteta's representatives this week to discuss an improved contract for the midfielder.
Arteta, 30, is understood to have taken a pay cut of £10,000 a week to sign from Everton for £10m last summer, says BBC Sport.
The midfielder signed a four-year deal worth a reported £60,000 a week and has asked the club to review that following an impressive first season.
